How to create notes

Create Recording Notes or Memo notes in the Looktech app, then review, export, or delete them later.

Use Notes in the Looktech app to create two kinds of notes: Recording Notes for longer sessions and Memo notes for quick conversations or photo-backed notes.

Where to find Notes

Open the Looktech app and go to Notes from the Home screen. You will see a list of notes, and you can tap any note to open the details.

Each note includes:

  • an auto-generated title

  • the date and time

  • a tag that shows how the note was created

Tag meanings:

  • #Recording: created from audio recording and transcription

  • #Memo: created from conversations with Memo

Choose the right note type

Use Recording Notes when you want to capture a longer session such as a meeting, interview, class, or long voice note.

Use Memo notes when you want to save a quick idea, create a hands-free note while moving, or keep a photo together with the note.

Create a Recording note

Recording Notes stream audio from the glasses to your phone in real time. After the recording ends, the app transcribes the content and generates an auto title plus structured sections such as a summary, highlights, and action items.

Speaker detection is supported for Recording Notes:

  • different speakers appear in different colors

  • you can rename speakers manually

  • if the audio file is still available, you can use playback controls

Important: audio is stored locally only. If the local audio file is deleted, it cannot be recovered.

Start and control a recording

  • Double-press the AI Button on the left temple to start recording.

  • The recording is saved to your phone while the glasses capture audio.

  • While recording, the working indicator on the glasses turns orange.

  • The app shows a Pause button and the recording duration while the session is active.

  • You can pause or resume the recording manually in the app.

  • To end the recording, short-press the AI Button on the glasses or tap End in the app.

Auto-stop rules

  • maximum recording length: 2 hours

  • if the recording stays paused for more than 10 minutes, it stops automatically

Create a Memo note

Memo notes are created during conversations with Memo. They are automatically tagged #Memo.

You can ask Memo to take a photo and save it in the note when you want a quick, hands-free note with an image.

Open and review a note

From the Notes list, tap a note to open its details.

Ask Memo about your notes

Memo can use Notes as an external knowledge source. For example, you can ask:

  • “Tell me the action items from my marketing meeting last Wednesday.”

  • “What was the idea I saved before for my Italian trip?”

Export or delete a note

In the top-right corner of a note, you can:

  • export the audio, if the audio file is available

  • export the transcript and summary

  • delete the note

Transcribe and summary language settings

  • Transcribe language: choose the language used for transcription

  • Summary language: choose the language used for summaries

  • Set both in Settings before you start recording

Audio storage and privacy

Notes uses a split storage model: audio stays on your current phone, while note content can sync across devices.

Audio storage and access

  • audio files are stored locally on your current phone only

  • if you sign in on another device or in another app environment, the audio file will not be available there

  • when audio is unavailable, playback controls may not appear

When audio is deleted

Audio is removed when:

  • you delete the note, which also deletes the local audio file

  • you uninstall the app, which also removes the local audio file

Export important audio before deleting the note or uninstalling the app.

Notes sync and encryption

  • note content such as transcripts, summaries, and structured points can sync across devices

  • note content is protected with encrypted transmission and encrypted storage

Get clearer notes

  • Use Recording Notes for long sessions where pauses should not interrupt your flow.

  • Use Memo notes when you want a quicker note or want to attach a photo.

  • Rename speakers after transcription if you want clearer meeting notes.
