Media Import Failed

This guide helps you troubleshoot when photos or videos captured on the glasses cannot be imported into the Looktech app.

Updated over a week ago

Before you start

Please keep the glasses and your phone close to each other (within 0.5 to 1 meter). Stay in a stable environment and avoid crowded Wi Fi areas if possible.

Step 1: Confirm capture is working

  1. Try taking a photo (short-press the Capture Button on the right temple).

  2. Try recording a video (press and hold the Capture Button).

What to check:

  • You can hear the normal capture sound effects.

  • You do not hear an error prompt sound.

  • The Capture Indicator light turns white during capture.

If capture is not working:

  • Charge the glasses fully, then try again.

  • Restart the glasses, then try again.

  • If the issue persists, submit a report in the app so we can check logs.

Step 2: Check whether the app detects new files

After capturing, open the Looktech app and go to the media import page.

What to check:

  • The app shows the importable file count increasing (for example, 1 Media Ready).

If the file count does not increase:

  • Take 1 to 2 more photos and check again.

  • Restart the app and reopen it.

  • Restart the glasses.

  • Keep the phone and glasses close, then try again.

Step 3: Start import and confirm Wi Fi join request appears

Tap Import in the Looktech app on the Home page or the Photos page.

What should happen:

  1. The app searches for Wi Fi.

  2. You will see a system prompt requesting to join the WLAN Network “Looktech”.

  3. Tap Join.

  4. No password is required.

Step 4: Import progress and completion

After you tap Join, you should see the import progress.

What should happen:

  • A progress indicator appears and increases.

  • After all files are imported, the app shows Import successful.

If you do not see the join prompt, the WiFi fails to join, or the import starts but gets stuck or fails:

Try the fixes below in order.

  • If you are using a VPN or iCloud Private Relay, please turn it off temporarily and try importing again, as they may affect local Wi-Fi transfers.

  • Ensure the app has Local Network permission enabled on iOS.

  • Ensure Wi Fi is enabled on your phone.

  • Restart the app and try again.

  • Keep the phone screen on and stay in the app during import

  • Keep the phone close to the glasses during the whole import

If the issue still persists

Please submit a report through the app so we can investigate with session logs.

Steps:

  1. Capture a photo or video, then try importing it.

  2. As soon as the import fails, open the Looktech app Settings.

  3. Tap Report an Issue.

  4. In the description, clearly tell us which step failed. For example:

    • No prompt appeared to join the WLAN Network “Looktech”

    • Joining “Looktech” failed

    • Import started but got stuck at a certain percentage

  5. If possible, attach screenshots. This helps us locate the issue faster.

We will analyze the logs and follow up.
