Wear detection is inaccurate

Recalibrate wear detection if the glasses react inconsistently or Bluetooth disconnects happen more often than expected.

Updated today

If wear detection does not respond reliably, or your glasses disconnect from Bluetooth more often than expected, recalibrate wear detection first. Incorrect wear detection can affect how the glasses detect whether they are being worn and may lead to unstable behavior.

When to recalibrate wear detection

Recalibrate wear detection if any of these happen:

  • the glasses react as if they are being worn when they are not

  • the glasses do not respond correctly when you put them on

  • wear detection turns on or off at the wrong time

  • Bluetooth disconnects happen repeatedly without another clear cause

Turn on wear detection first

  • Open the Looktech app.

  • Go to Home -> Device Settings -> Wear detection.

  • Turn on the Wear detection switch.

Recalibrate wear detection

  1. Take off the glasses.

  2. Place the glasses flat on a table.

  3. Make sure you are not wearing the glasses.

  4. Do not hold the glasses or touch the wear detection sensor area.

  5. Tap Wear detection calibration.

  6. Follow the on-screen steps to finish calibration.

Avoid common calibration mistakes

  • do not calibrate while wearing the glasses

  • do not hold the glasses in your hand during calibration

  • do not touch the wear detection sensor area

  • keep the glasses flat on a stable table until calibration finishes

If the issue continues

  • Run the calibration again under the same table-flat and no-contact conditions.

  • If Bluetooth disconnects continue after recalibration, report the issue in the app.

  • For the reporting steps, see How to report an issue.
