How to play music with Memo

Connect Apple Music, then ask Memo to play songs, albums, playlists, artists, or stations.

Memo can use Apple Music to start music from your voice request. Before you ask Memo to play something, connect Apple Music in the Looktech app and make sure it is available for playback.


Connect Apple Music

  • Open the Looktech app.

  • Go to Settings.

  • Tap Music.

  • Tap Apple Music.

  • Tap Connect and follow the permission flow.

When the connection is ready, Apple Music shows Connected. You need an active Apple Music subscription to use Apple Music with Memo.


Ask Memo to play music

Start Memo in either of these ways:

  • say "Hey Memo"

  • press the AI Button once

Then ask for the music you want. Memo can play songs, artists, albums, playlists, stations, or music for a mood or activity.

Examples:

  • "Hey Memo, play Anti-Hero by Taylor Swift."

  • "Hey Memo, play Jay Chou."

  • "Hey Memo, play the latest album by Ed Sheeran."

  • "Hey Memo, play a jazz station."

  • "Hey Memo, play a workout playlist."

  • "Hey Memo, play 1990s pop music."

  • "Hey Memo, play music for studying."

  • "Hey Memo, play relaxing music."

  • "Hey Memo, play a playlist for dinner."

Use the actual song, artist, album, playlist, or station name in your request. Memo searches Apple Music and starts playback when it finds a playable result.


Control playback after music starts

After music starts, you can use voice commands for basic playback actions, such as pausing music, playing music, skipping to the next song, or changing the volume. You can also use the Media Crown for basic playback and volume controls. For the full button reference, see Controls by button.


If Memo cannot play music

If Memo says music is not ready or cannot start playback, check Apple Music in Settings -> Music.

  • Not connected: tap Connect and finish setup.

  • Permission required: allow Apple Music access, then try again.

  • Subscription required: sign in to Apple Music with an active subscription.

  • App required: install or open Apple Music, then return to the Looktech app and refresh the connection.

  • Playback failed: try the request again, or reconnect Apple Music.

If Memo cannot find the exact music you asked for, try a more specific request with the song, artist, album, playlist, or station name.
